Size Doesn’t Matter?

via In the Human Brain, Size Really Isn’t Everything – NYTimes.com.

Human Brain EvolutionSize doesn’t matter when it comes to the human brain? Hmmm….I guess that like many, perhaps even most, things in life, its about quality  rather than quantity. In regards to our human brain, it is about the neurological qualify of the functional abilities of neurons and not the quantity, or number of them.  More of the same is irrelavent.  Its simply more, not necessarily better. Better as in improved, comes with increasing the functionality per amount ratio. In simpler terms, it’s about  relative effectiveness and efficiency. Or in our capitalistic focused society, getting the most value returned with limited resources invested – the biggest bang for the buck.

Makes sense. :)

We humans are pretty amazing. <3
